The release said that institutions in various States/UTs offering Technical Education, not approved by AICTE, permitting such unauthorized institutions to impart technical education will be detrimental to the interest of the Student Community in terms of recognition of the course, pursuing further education and securing employment.
In this context, it is the responsibility of the concerned State Government and Union territories to prevent the Student Community falling a prey to such institutions set up for monetary consideration.
The Council has further requested the concerned authority to take immediate steps and close down institutions offering Technical Education without approval of AICTE. “Such Institutions if so desired, may seek the approval of the Council as a New Technical Education as per Approval Process Handbook under Chapter 1 for the next Academic Session as per the norms of AICTE and only then offer technical programmes,” it added.
