Guwahati, February 8 (MExN): The Comprehensive Cancer Care Oncology Team of AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad observed World Cancer Day on February 4 at Guwahati.
According to a press release received on Monday, on the occasion, a team comprised of Dr Kausik Bhattacharya, Director& HOD Radiation Oncology and Dr Vamshi Krishna, Director & HOD Medical Oncology from AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad were felicitated by doctors from the northeastern region.
World Cancer Day is celebrated around the world on February 4 to spread awareness, inspire change and reduce the global impact of cancer. It also seeks to reduce misconceptions about cancer and help people in getting the right information in order to make an impact in the betterment of cancer patients and survivors.
The release stated that cancer is the second leading cause of deaths globally, with lung, breast, gastro, cervical, head and neck, colorectal cancers being the most common among the Indian population.
