The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has announced the 5th Padmashree W. Nokdenlemba Open Volleyball Tournament, scheduled to take place from October 9 to 11, 2024, at the Imkongmeren Multi Sports Complex in Mokokchung.
In a press release, the AKM stated that the event is being organized to honor the legacy of Padmashree W. Nokdenlemba, the first president of AKM from Waromung village, who made significant contributions to Naga society and left an enduring impact on the community.
The tournament is exclusively open to indigenous Naga participants, with teams competing for top honors and a total prize pool of Rs 2,40,000. The champions will receive Rs 1,00,000, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 50,000. Both semi-finalists will take home Rs 20,000 each.
Additionally, individual awards will be presented for Best Setter, Best Spiker, and Best Libero, each receiving Rs 10,000. Special recognition will also be given to the Player of the Tournament and the Emerging Player of the Tournament, with both honorees receiving Rs 10,000 each.
AKM stated that registration for the tournament is Rs 5,000 per team. Accommodations will be provided for players from outside Mokokchung District.
