AKMWP & KBPF holds joint meet with ACAUT

Kohima, September 27 (MExN): The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP), Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) and Kohima Baptist Pastor Fellowship (KBPF) held a joint meeting on corruption and Clean Election at 2K Hotel Kohima on September 26.  

Constitute Lokayukta immediately

The meeting dwelt on unchecked practice of corruption, violating every system of guidelines and procedural function of both the center and the state and the gross violation of the standing order for blanket ban on appointment without any sanction post and backdoor appointment without vacancy post advertisement.  

AKMWP, the host of the meeting in a press release stated that Lokayukta must be immediately constituted in Nagaland and reiterated the public resolutions adopted on August 25th 2017 ACAUT mass rally at Dimapur, demanding the passage of Lokayukta Bill in the state Assembly by September 2017.  

Calls for more support towards Clean Election

In regard to Clean Election, the house opined that, any amount of planning or circulating Do’s and Don’ts through print media is not helping much, therefore, along with NBCC, every civil societies must come out openly and contribute for the cause of Clean Election. “NBCC is taking the initiative, but it is the duty of every Christians regardless of their denominations to nurture the mindset of our society in the future process of Clean Election,” the house affirmed.  

The house, therefore appealed to NBCC through the Kohima Baptist Pastor Fellowship, to request the Naga Christians and every church to assign the pastors and deacons to every polling station to lead in prayer on the day of polling.
