I am writing to bring to your attention the alarming condition of the road at Green Park, 5th Mile Junction on the National Highway. This junction is crucial as it connects to the cricket stadium, Singrijan, Rangapahar and Dhobinala Junction in Dimapur.
The public relies heavily on this link road to travel between Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Kohima. Heavy vehicles, school buses, and military convoys also use this road, which is concerning given the numerous schools and colleges located in the area, including Tetso College, Rincho Academy, St John’s School, Daeshin Academy and St Joseph University.
The road’s condition is hazardous, with multiple pits, potholes, and breakages that cause frequent vehicle breakdowns. This poses a significant challenge for passengers and traffic personnel, including Traffic Personnel Havildar Ipie, who has expressed difficulties in managing traffic due to the poor road condition. Moreover, the junction is a hub for over 100 auto rickshaws and 20 scooty taxis, making it essential that the authorities address this issue promptly.
The deteriorating condition of the road makes it difficult for vehicles to navigate safely, causing inconvenience to pedestrians. I humbly request that you take immediate action to repair the road, ensuring smooth navigation for vehicles and pedestrians alike. Your prompt attention to this matter will greatly benefit the community, enhancing safety, convenience, and overall quality of life.
Thank you for your attention to this pressing concern.
Yours faithfully,
Johny Abraham
