Dimapur, January 4 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has clarified that the news pertaining to its Working President Alemtemshi Jamir being the Chief Ministerial candidate of the party is “not official news”. A press release from the party President Chingwang Konyak informed that the Central Executive Board (CEB) of the NDPP held a sitting on January 4 and reviewed the news which had spread over social media and the press that Alemtemshi was the CM candidate. “The news is not an official news item of the NDPP party,” the NDPP President clarified. The matter of Neiphiu Rio dissociating from the NDPP Party was also placed before the CEB and it was decided that Alemtemshi would be asked to take up the responsibility of leading and coordinating the matters of the party, the release added.
