‘All Naga tribes co-ordination meet’ resolves to prepare agendas for peaceful, lasting solution

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): The 3rd ‘All Naga tribes co-ordination meeting’ in regard to Naga political solution called by Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) resolved to “stand united in support to the political talks between GOI and different Naga Political Groups for an early solution to the protracted Naga political issue.”


The meeting held on August 31 was attended by the Ao Senden, Sumi Hoho, Lotha Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Pochury Hoho, ZPO, CNTC and ENPO along with its six federating tribal bodies, informed a press note from the ENPO today.  


ENPO President, Kekongchim, during the meeting stated that, the expectation of the Naga people from a solution is enduring peace in the entire Naga areas. “However, it would not be possible until all Naga Political Groups come together and hammer out the differences if there is any, and place common agenda before the government of India for a peaceful and lasting solution,” he added. 


Hence, on behalf of all peace loving Naga citizen, Kekongchim appealed to the negotiators to come together to have the final agreement acceptable to all the groups and in the best possible interest of the concerned people.
The meeting also resolved that, all the tribes who attended the meeting would meet the NSCN (IM) and NNPGs as early as possible as a gesture of solidarity and to convey the decision taken in the meeting. It was also decided that the tribe bodies would write an appeal letter (if necessary) to sit across the table and “prepare and place common agendas for a peaceful and lasting solution.”


The ENPO meanwhile reminded that it initiated the peace mission starting from April 23, 2019 meeting all Naga tribes including Nagas of Arunachal, Assam and Manipur and held three joint co-ordination meetings of all Naga tribes, “where all concerned people were desirous of having a peaceful and long lasting solution to the Naga political issue at the earliest.”
