All teachers with VIPs detached, DoSE to Nagaland Governor

The Nagaland State Department of School Education has informed Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya that all teachers attached with VIPs have already been “detached.”

The Department has already “detached those teachers were attached with VIPs… and directed to all District Education Officer/Sub-Divisional Education Officer to release the teachers attached with VIPs to join in their respective schools,” stated a response from DoSE Additional Director to a letter by the Governor regarding the issue.

The letter dated August 4 also enclosed the “Detachment Order” copy as well as a list of 50 attached teachers to VVIPS. The letter was shared with the media during an Editor’s Meet with the Governor held here today.

Incidentally, however, the order was dated October 31, 2017, and the list contained attached teachers from the previous government, with no record of the current dispensation.

Many organizations, particularly the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), have been demanding detachment of teachers attached to the directorate, DEOs and SDEOs as well as Associate Professors/Assistant Professors “attached to VIPs (if any) and demanding that no such attachments be made.”

In June this year, the ANCSU, in a letter to Nagaland Chief Minister, Niephiu Rio, claimed that as many as 90 teachers were attached to the directorate, DEOs and SDEOs. It asked the CM to take the matter seriously and not to allow such attachments.
