Dimapur, January 21 (MExN): The Secretary of Law & Order, NSCN (IM), Khekuto Jakhalu on Sunday has refuted the allegations of kidnapping one Subash Kumar Jain as being “totally unsubstantiated, unjustified and erroneously leveled against me and my boys”.
In a rejoinder to the news item wherein the Dimapur Police had arrested two NSCN (IM) cadres on charges of abduction which was published in local newspapers on Sunday, Jakhalu termed it “phony allegation” while stating that he had sent the two cadres “to call Subash only for enquiry since there were complaints from public”.
In this connection, the NSCN (IM) Secretary asked the Police to check the CCTV footage on whether Subash was dragged into the car to ascertain if he was kidnapped or he willingly accommodated himself to the car “as he was formally called for enquiry”. One can also confirm from Subash’s wife if her husband was kidnapped or called for enquiry and was left unhurt within few hours, Jakhalu added.
According to Jakhalu, as per the complaint received by the Crime Cell, he had summoned Subash Kumar Jain, proprietor of Amar Agency, Garment Shop at MP Road for inquiry.
“When detailed enquiry was made, Subash willingly revealed that he had misappropriated the price tag (MRP) by selling goods at Rs. 100/- which he was supposed to sell at Rs. 70/- as per company’s rate,” Jakhalu’s rejoinder stated.
“But to our utter surprise it was discovered that the FIR was lodged in support of Subash by one Rongsen, ASI, East Police Station, Dimapur,” the Secretary of the NSCN (IM) alleged while accusing the same police official of sheltering and protecting the accused in carrying out such fraud and cheating.
“It is very painful that police personnel got involved themselves in daylight robbery and gives security to cheaters of public people,” Jakhalu added and further called on civil societies to come forward to stop such practices in future.
