Scouts and guides, rovers, rangers and unit leaders after the awareness programme held at Botanical Garden premises, Kohima on March 10.

 

Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Alpine Open Scout and Guide Unit Kohima organized an awareness programme on ‘COVID-19’ and conducted ‘Free Being Me’ activities for the scouts and guides, rovers and rangers of the unit at Botanical Garden premises, Kohima on March 10.


The scouts and guides were sensitized on origin of COVID-19, its symptoms, how it is being spread, its prevention and took a pledge to spread the awareness.


‘Free Being Me’ is an innovative educational programme for young boys and girls of 5 to 18 years of age created by World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scout in partnership with Dove Self Esteem Programme Project. ‘Free Being Me’ shows young people that body confidence and self esteem comes from valuing their bodies, standing up to social pressures and supporting others to become more body confident. 


Participants taking part in the programme learns leadership skills and feels empowered to make a difference in their local and global communities.    


The programme was attended by 50 scouts, guides, rovers, rangers, unit leaders from the unit along with 2 FBM trainers.
