Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): ALS Coaching Centre, India’s largest IAS coaching network, was launched at Tetso College on July 20 by Dr. PS Lorin, Principal, Tetso College and Jojo Mathews, founder of ALS and renowned IAS mentor.
Tetso College in a press release stated that credit goes to Imdong Anar, Regional Manager - EAST of ALS and alumnus of Tetso College for initiating steps to help set up the centre at Tetso.
Jojo Mathews stated that cracking the civil service exams is a test of four important things: Information, which is the preliminary stages of learning; Knowledge - on how to write a good answer and apply the information; personality, character and integrity; wisdom - on how to tackle all the problems in the country that include how to handle politicians, mobs or any other difficult situations.
He encouraged students to develop the habit of reading the newspapers everyday to learn general knowledge, however adding that reading alone does not help. One should be able to convert that reading into knowledge, which also requires one to develop a good memory power, an essential for cracking the exams, he added. The next step, Mathews said, is knowing how to apply that knowledge.
The ALS centre at Tetso College will begin its first batch of classes from August 2018. The coaching centre is open for all interested individuals and not exclusive to Tetso students. ALS also mentioned that scholarship tests will be held on July 25 in order to provide an opportunity to all individuals irrespective of their financial background to enroll.
