DIMAPUR, AUGUST 16 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) on Thursday said it was shocked and disturbed by the ultimatum served to its president by the Jotsoma Village Council. The JVC had served a 3-day ultimatum to ANCSU president while alleging that in a meeting with the Nagaland Chief Minister and other officials on August 14, he had “threatened to dismantle the DD Kendra, PHED water reservoir and the RCEMPA music academy hall and to shift the Kohima Science College out of Jotsoma village jurisdiction, if these buildings are not dismantled.” ANCSU, while maintaining that its president had not uttered such allegation at the meeting and flatly rejected the claim that it has demanded shifting of Kohima Science College out of Jotsoma village jurisdiction.
It also put on record to the JVC that the union in no occasion or statement has asked for vandalizing of any private or government buildings. Meanwhile, a number of Dimapur based colleges condemned the ultimatum served by JVC to ANCSU president, which it stated, hurt the sentiments of the students’ community. A press release appended by student leaders from 13 colleges of Dimapur said it will not remain a silent spectator if anything happens to ANCSU president and executive members on this issue.
