Student life is an integral part of human life as this is where the foundation of life is build. This was said by Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse at the 30th biennial conference of the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) held at Tuophema village under the theme ‘Rational Integrity.’
Speaking as the special guest of the inaugural session, Kruse advised that students must give more time in their studies as it is short-lived, rather than being carried away in entertainment activities. While observing that there are many whose parents are unable to pay for their children's education, she urged the students to take the opportunity to study and do their best.
Pointing out the theme as pertinent at this point of time, Kruse said they are the two most important rules in life for any person.
Citing some of the good values of our forefathers, she also urged the student to imbibe those values in their lives and carry forward.
The students were also advised to engage in skilling themselves and to strive to become good human being, and be an asset to the society.
Earlier, Kruse also unveiled the monolith wherein dedicatory prayer was offered by Rüdilhou Rio, Senior Pastor, Botsa Baptist Church.
In his presidential address, Bisevi Nakhro impressed upon the students to uphold the good tradional values and wisdom passed on by the elders.
He also advised them to keep striving in doing what's best for the community and the Nagas in general.
Kelhouneizo Yhome, Convenor central organising committee highlighted in brief the history and inception of ASU.
Angami Public Organisation (APO) Razouvoto Chatsu also exhorted the students.
The session was followed by academic session and extravaganza nite.
Rev Fr Dr Pezalhoukho George Rino, Postgraduate Coordinator, St Josephs' College (Autonomous) Jakhama as the speaker of the devotional service on April 30, while Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor, Industries & Commerce will grace the valedictory session as the special guest.
