
Kohima, December 3 (DIPR): The annexe building of Guwahati High Court, Kohima bench was inaugurated at Kohima by the Justice Jasti Chelameswal who was also the Chief Guest this afternoon. Speaking on the occasion Jasti Chelameswal called upon the lawyers to rededicate themselves by assuring good quality service in matters of dispensing law and justice to the people. He said that he is interested to establish Law School in the North East if the State Government has no objection to spare land and necessary requirements. He also underscored the need of efficiency to deliver justice to the common people in time.
Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio assured fullest cooperation from the State Government to the Department of the Law and Justice and also the members of the Bar to uplift the position and to develop the new High Court site. He requested and apprised the people, particularly the Chief Justice High Court, to open the National Law School in the State in order to live in harmony and to operate justice in time so that people will live a peaceful life.
Parliamentary Secretary Law and Justice, Yitachu who gave the welcome address said that delay of cases and corruptions is taken as serious concern by the State Government and it will do its best to deliver justice to the people. The building of the total cost is estimated at Rs. 2.88 crores. Commissioner and Secretary, Law and Justice, Mhathung Kithan chaired the function. Pastor Vevo Phesao and Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima, Minister Hill Kohima rendered invocation prayer and special songs. Officials from the Guwahati High Court, Bureaucrats, Bar members, Law students Kohima and other dignitaries attended the function.
