Barely a day after two CRPF personnel were injured in a hand grenade attack in Imphal, another bomb suspected to be a hand grenade exploded in Imphal’s Kwakeithel area on Saturday, around 5.30 pm.
No one was hurt in the explosion. The grenade was hurled at a community hall at Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai under Singjamei police station.
Police who rushed to the spot immediately after the blast suspected it was a hand grenade that exploded there.
It can be noted here that on Friday evening, two CRPF personnel were injured after a hand grenade hurled by miscreants went off inside the premises of a local youth club (Thangmeiband Improvement Club) nearby the main entrance gate of the Manipur Legislative Assembly in Imphal’s Chingmeirong.
None of the militant groups so far owned up the two blasts where security measure was enhanced considering the series of blasts in the first week of the current month.
