
Kohima, March 9 (MExN): All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association (ANPWDFWA) has in a press statement highlighted “the government’s total failure to regularize work-charged employees’ service and revision of pay even after several assurances were given.”
The statement appended by ANPWDFWA president, Inakhu Aye and general secretary, K Atovi Awomi asserted that the decision of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to contest Lok Sabha election “is wise to pay a bigger vital role at national level, but before that the grievances of the work-charged employees should be redressed, likewise the interest shown by the CM in attending migrants Amur Falcon birds as we are purely Naga indigenous government employees.”
While strongly supporting the decision of All Nagaland Inter Departmental Field Staff Association Joint Forum on their seven days ultimatum to the government for fulfilling the demands of work-charged employees, ANPWDFWA has requested the presidents and general secretaries of all the divisions to get prepared for the proposed agitation, “come out to the streets in their respective headquarters as a token of demonstration against the state indifferent attitude towards the legitimate rights of the work-charged employees and their dependants.”
Further, the association stated that the salaries of regular staffs are yet to be disbursed even though the centre has already sanctioned in the yearly budget. Therefore, it appealed the government to immediately disburse the salaries of the regular employees.
