ANSF clarifies on rehabilitation package

Changlang, August 17 (MExN): The Arunachal Naga Students’ Federation (ANSF) has clarified about its earlier memorandum to the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh regarding the rehabilitation package for surrendered cadres in the State. A ‘rejoinder letter’ from the ANSF explained today that the memorandum was meant for the “already surrendered public” who were unable to earn wages for themselves due to being either “handicapped” or due to the lack of jobs in the State. It has made it difficult for them to survive due to the lack of livelihood sources, stated the letter from ANSF President, Nokchai Boham and General Secretary, Pharo Khamthin. In that regard, the ANSF had appealed to the State and Central authorities to come with a package to “feed the downtrodden for the larger interest of the State.” However, their appeal was “misinterpreted by some national media” that “created misunderstanding among the Naga people.” The ANSF regretted this.
