Kohima, August 30 (MExN): In view of the failure of the government to issue a written assurance of acceptance of All Nagaland School Teacher’s Association (ANSTA)’s charter of demands within the stipulated time, which expired on August 18, the ANSTA in an executive meeting held on August 25 made the following resolutions.
The house resolved that it shall launch its first-phase of agitation, starting from September 5 and would continue till September 20.
That all teachers shall wear a black badge, including the teacher-awardees on September 5 and all working days till September 20 of the same month. The black badge shall be triangular in shape and shall measure at least 2 inches at the sides, which shall be prepared by the respective school heads and the senior teachers, together.
The house resolved that an ANSTA, executive meeting be convened on September 26 in order to study and assess the response and the outcome of the first agitation and plan future courses of action.
The house also resolved that all the office bearers of the different district units of the ANSTA shall oversee and work for the successful conduct of the agitation in their respective district.
It was decided that stringent action shall be initiated against those persons who fail to comply with the directives of the Association.
This was stated in release issued by Kepelhoutuo Chusi and L Asang Ozukum, Convener and Secretary respectively of Action Committee, ANSTA.
Meanwhile, the Dimapur unit declared full support to the protest. Its President P Vashum informed that some cases like the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme has been implemented in every department in the state except the education department.
