Ao Senden informs on village expulsion

Dimapur, December 13 (MExN): The Ao Senden in a general meeting held on December 11 discussed at length the seriousness of the damage to its office and properties by a mob on November 26. The incident took place following a silent procession called by Ungma villagers in connection with the assassination bid made on the life of Goa Governor Dr. SC Jamir suspected to be by the NSCN-IM.  

Informing of this, a note from the hoho stated that the damage to the senden’s office was perpetrated by Ungma villagers after submitting a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung on the day of the silent processing. After thorough discussions, the house unanimously resolved to suspend Ungma village from the membership of the Ao Senden according to customary laws with effect from December 11 for an indefinite period of time. The house authorized the executive committee to reconsider readmission of Ungma village in the Ao Senden in appropriate time. The house also resolved to extend fullest support to the authorities in concern on the matter of assassination bid made on the life of Dr. SC Jamir which took place near Changki village in Mokokchung.
