Kohima, March 29 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) golden celebration organizing committee in preparation for the celebration held a coordination meeting today at APO conference hall here. The mega celebration is scheduled for April 8.
A release issued by organizing committee publicity secretary Zhakie Khate said that Tuesday’s meeting was held between the organizing committee and different committees. Around 20,000 Angami people are expected to participate in the event in full traditional gear, he said, adding that every Angami family is contributing Rs 50 for the occasion.
The APO is set to celebrate its golden jubilee on April 8 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground) under the theme ‘Angamimia Therhu.’ A release received here today stated that on this day, Angami people shall have better sense of brotherhood. Angami folk songs, dramas and other talents will be exhibited. The entire Angami people shall feast together which will be prepared from one ‘Hearth,’ according to Kevimechie Tsukru, Information & Publicity Secretary, Angami Students’ Union (ASU).
As such, in honor of the forthcoming jubilee celebration, ASU requested everyone to reserve the date of April 8 and be part of the celebration.
