Tuensang, January 23 (MExN): One NSCN (K) cadre was apprehended from Longkhim Town on January 23 in a joint operation conducted by 5 & 40 Assam Rifles along with Nagaland Police, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. The operation was carried out based on regular inputs about the presence of the cadre to target Security Force convoys on Tuensang-Mokokchung road during Republic Day celebrations, the release alleged. The NSCN (K) cadre identified as Lieutenant Yantril Sangtam was in possession of an IED with a detonator, a reserve detonator and one .22 pistol with four live rounds, the AR said. He was later handed over to the Tuensang Police Station.
