Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): 15 Assam Rifles apprehended two NSCN (K) cadres along with two pistols and “other warlike stores” in an operation conducted in Kusang and Noklak on March 23, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. The cadres have been identified as Longshen (52), resident of Noklak village and Khunyu (30), resident of Kusong village. The apprehended cadres along with recovered items were handed over to Noklak Police Station, it added. Meanwhile, 32 Assam Rifles along with police representative launched a search operation based on specific input regarding presence of illegal arms and ammunition in a house at Kachari Gaon, Dimapur on March 24. One 7.65 pistol along with magazine and ten live rounds of 22 pistol were recovered from the suspected house of Nrithung Lotha (36), a separate press note from AR said. The individual along with the recovered items was handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
