DIMAPUR, JULY 27 (MExN): The PTO IGAR South has informed that discovering the movement of UG cadres in general area Tengnoupal, troops of 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in general area and apprehended a KCP (Noyon) Cadre from a Maruti Van bearing Regd No. MN 04 A3985 coming from Imphal to Moreh. The apprehendee identified as Chongtham Chandra Mani Singh, 56 yrs, s/o Late Ch Chandro Singh, r/o Porompat Kongkha Leikai, PO/PS Poropat Imphal East. The apprehendee was handed over to Imphal West Police Station.
In another incident, Troops of 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in general area Sita Track Junction and apprehended one Myanmares national from a Maruti Van bearing Regd No. MN 01W 4271 coming from Imphal to Moreh without valid documents on 26 Jul 2011. The apprehendee was identified as Md Sayat Noor, 19 yrs, s/o Mahmad Noor, r/o Baka Guna, PO/ PS anasuk, Dist Rauma (Myanmar). The apperhendee was handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station
AR ORGANISES ANTI MALARIA CAMPAIGN
In a joint effort with the local villagers 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under aegis HQ IGAR(South) carried out Anti malaria drive with spray of Malathion and Moskil at various places in Joupi, in the aftermath of a spate of malaria cases being reported in the villages due to the incessant rains. The Anti malaria drive will continue for one week and will include lectures on hygiene and sanitation, waste disposal and prevention of viral diseases. Special emphasis is being laid to educate school children to keep the surroundings neat and clean.
