AR begin final leg of motorcycle rally

Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): The Assam Rifles motorcycle rally being conducted with the theme ‘HIV/AIDS and Drug Free Nagaland’ under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) reached Zunheboto, Dimapur and Mokokchung on May 9.  

The first leg of the rally which commenced in Kohima on May 5 reached Zunheboto on May 9. The bikers will move to Wokha after a night halt in Zunheboto on May 10.  

The second leg of Assam Rifles motorcycle rally by 6 Sector Assam Rifles also reached Dimapur on May 9. The bikers were flagged in by Col VS Pal, Commandant, 32 AR at Kashiram Basti, Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles, Dimapur. The three-day rally covered Dimapur, Medziphema, Athibung and Jalukie covering a distance of 190 kilometers. As part of the campaign, medical camps, awareness lectures, drawing cum poster making competitions on HIV/ AIDS were conducted targeting youths and local populace.  

The third and final leg of the rally commenced from Tuensang to Mokokchung on May 9. The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang. The rally comprises of 32 bikers, including Assam Rifles troops and members of Royal Enfield Enblac, led by Captain Anubhav Verma. They will cover a distance of 200 km of challenging roads with pit stops at Longkhim and Chare over the next two days. The third leg of the rally will culminate on May 11.
