Mokokchung, July 28 (MExN): On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, July 28, Mokokchung battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a lecture in Mokokchung.
The aim of the lecture was to spread awareness regarding viral hepatitis, types of viral hepatitis, its transmission and precautions to avoid the disease, informed a press release from the PRO, HQ IGAR (North).
It stated that viral hepatitis is presently gaining its foothold in India and the world over. Around 1.39 million people die of viral hepatitis and its complications every year making it the fastest spreading disease, the release noted. The participants of the lecture were sensitized and encouraged to spread awareness regarding the disease and to maintain personal hygiene, cleanliness of the surroundings, and to adhere to the precautions for its prevention. 25 youth attended the lecture.
