Some of those who voted YES had this to say:
• Yes, I can see the standard of governance in maintaining swanky cars, mansions, etc by government officials. They know how to go foreign trip, how to organize the most expensive Horn(y)bill fest, Road shows, sumptuous parties & picnics by writing "austerity" off from their moral dictionary. But what they lack is the "QUALITY OF GOVERNANCE." In my opinion, there's a distinction between quality & standard of governance. Standard of governance is not pro-peoples' governance.
• Peace being prevail, development being taken and above all recognizing our Nagas brothers from other states and establishing a new government/party called the NPF.
• It has improved, i will admit. But a little improvement from the deplorable and woeful previous existence is not praiseworthy. When the government is playing politics rather than providing for the needs of the people then there is very little distinction from the previous and this. Why isn't a simple thing like better roads or water supply during the dry seasons available? Those are lowest and basic needs that people need and where the government should start. I do not wish to always be negative but where there is room for improvement and where the government can do better, it should. Not fall back into stagnancy again and again.
Some of those who voted NO had this to say:
• Definitely the govt of Nagaland has done many things over the years but the standard of governance is far from expected standard. And most of the things done are personal welfare at the expense of public welfare. Urbanizations in Nagaland is contributed more by rich individuals than the govt of Nagaland. The economy of the state is shared only among the corrupt politicians, bureaucrats, govt contractors, the so called ‘national workers’ etc. The govt of Nagaland is NOT ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’ but ‘off the people, by a few, against the people.’
• Road conditions in Nagaland..outcome is nil..pathetic conditions. Then comes water supply in Nagaland esp. Kohima...Where is the PHED Minister? The ultimate apathy is power supply in Nagaland. Good lord where have all the funds gone?
• No, they just think about filling their pockets they don't think about the public
• They are too busy recovering their election expenditure. Cant blame them either coz we the voters make them spend so much beyond our economic stature..
• What? Which Govt? Underground or overground. There is no other place like Nagaland where there r two parallel Govts..One look into the system, every body is waiting their chances to grab the mullah..All they know is cheat n eat, amass wealth out of their positional status, blah blah blah. Overgrounds r feeding the undergrounds. Its a symbiotic situation. Believe me..in the next 100 yrs or so, our great-great-grand grand children will look back into the history and curse us....
• NO, the Nagaland government has no ethics and no understanding of governance at all. Their only interest is to serve their own greedy needs. They dont care about serving the people as long as they can serve themselves. The theme Good Governance has been used to serve their wants.
• There is nothing worthwhile to appreciate anything DAN Govt had done...the outcome is there 4 all to see.
• Congressmen shud work hard to bring down the present Govt...Incase congress comes to power..remember that u r elected bcos ur govt might come handy to naga ppl.
• Its pathetic to see our state lacking in every aspect, despite more than 50 yrs of statehood, there is no worthwhile development taking place whether in Agriculture, road/bridges, education, power, water supplies, medical facilities endless. All this stagnation is due to poor Governance, Our politician most of them have short Goal no long vision for future generations. We have enough human resources but due to poor Governance so much is loosing when the whole world is running against time.
• I used to wander why all these DAN's Govt. ministers goes to Delhi quite often..Like our present Power Minister who was untraceable 4 more than 8 wks post load-shedding, i wander what cud he possibly bring more power to nagaland by staying in Delhi... Good Lord, what had happened to Nagas.
• No. the NPF led DAN GOV'T has sown the seed of discord.
• Not happy at all. Just look at the state of the roads and the power supply. No wonder, no one wants to invest in Nagaland. This is a very bad state of affairs.
• Whatever the people receive from them is uncountable and unbelievable. So I like to quote that so.
• No, useless govt with no hope no development, only tax everywhere....
• Absolutely Not satisfy with the present GOVT. they never keep sincere for the public. They knw how to build a big private building for themselves only
• Because The Govt Does Not Keep Nagaland Clean
• Everything NO from my side ..... Electricity load shedding dis n dat n blah blah blah...... Tru out d year.. Its better dat we use candles n solar lamps! Roads_full of potholes.... A very suitable place 4 fishes, frogs n aquatic animals! Education n blah blah blah..... A very big No frm my side!
• No!... BUT, by the way who are the people in Governance in Nagaland? Most of them are my beloved relatives and yours too, I believe!
• No. The standard of governance is worse than BPL category, honestly. And well, we know even that BPL thingy is manipulated. To check this, a strenuous, systematic overhaul is necessary now, right from the lowliest till the highest.
• I am in the government. And the subjects are responsible too. Instead of squarely blaming the government, there should be some soul searching, why we are so difficult to be governed.
• No, not at all happy with the Govt of Nagland....they are not taking up their responsibility the way they were suppose to take up. Its a very shameful thing for we Nagas.
• it is very poor, it cannot change the economic, sociality, into better
• Deaf ear to the common man
• No…not at all happy and it would be good to hear more about works done than just discussions and discussions forever!!! What are words and smiles and policies and politics without action.
Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
• Nagas are an independent loving people. Everyone is independent of each other. There are no signs of governance and people are doing things as they like in every way. There is total anarchy, chaos and sad to see that we are heading towards doom day.
• This tym the govt is going 2 b the most non-functioning state.
• I could hardly have failed to recognize governance. But I could hardly have supposed that, only a few years later, this master minded thugs would be showing us a cluster of dark knights rising and telling us the story of their sour rules. That apart, I welcome it because it helps to show to a new generation of young energetic nagas that it is not the politics which we dislike but only the repeated misuse of politics by the legislatures (rulers). Lastly, I owe a great debt to our politicians, who gives us idea and keep upto it…Contrived somehow to what we write and to improve it by criticism.
• Whom do they think are they amassing fortunes meant 4 developments.
