ARE YOU SATISFIED BY THE PERFORMANCE OF THE NEW GENERATION OF NAGA POLITICIANS AND BUREAUCRATS? WHY?

Some of those who voted YES had this to say:

• I cannot say I am satisfied, but I can say that the younger bureaucrats and a few of the politicians are trying their best to be different and to change things for the better. It is going to take time, but we need to encourage them. So I vote yes!

• Yes as far as younger bureaucrats are concerned. Their attitude and work culture is better. Hopefully this will only improve with time. They must make sure that they do not get sucked into the system. As far as politicians are concerned, they are yet to make a mark.

• Yes to bureaucrats but no to politicians.... to give an example i am very much satisfied with the administration of keseno yhome.. the present deputy commissioner of dimapur.. but young generation politicians knows only how to get contract and build their many storied buildings...

• Yes, they are proving to be more dynamic and are better in solving problems. Also they are more genuine and sincere in their approach. If power and arrogance does not go into their head and they are ego-free, I think things will improve. They do need guidance and so they should keep seeing people’s opinions and views.

Some of those who voted NO had this to say:

• My answer is "no". Why? Because they have done nothing or anything worth mentioning the name. Lofty and noble plans exist only in papers. Practical applications are almost non- existent, hijacked by greed. There are of course a few bureaucrats who are sincere and honest. They prefer to be different and hence their principles don't toe the line with the corrupted majority.

• Ah! This is a hard one to comment. But if i say, yes. I'd be a liar, for my conscience doesnt allow me. All we see of our politicians and bureaucrats is that they're only in the path of staying in their position but no action towards society. What development have they brought so far? Not visible. Only their mansions and land are increasing, that's all. Sorry for being blatant here but politicians have very less positive impact upon our society. Praying for a better leader to take the lead.

• Haha nope ..all they're doing is stocking scheme funds, scholarships and salary's in banks to reap the interests ! Goddamn! We need honest people!

• No because they walk, drive, dance the same step like the elders.

• No, why, because almost all of them are like a an old wine in a new bottle.

• NO. All politicians are same, old or new. They're all incorrigible.

• NO. They seem spineless

• No, because human wants is unlimited as such we can never be satisfied wanting for more and better. The present generation naga politicians are so weak before money and undeserving power.

• "No", because I would be lying to myself if I say "Yes"

• No. Same old same old. But, maybe a whimper of 'little', which, of course, doesn't imply they are doing okay. Cynicism is still very much the popular sentiment or perhaps more than ever.

• No, not at all. Most of our politicians were too selfish and too short-sighted.

• No, Too much corrupted people are running the government

• No. I really thought that the younger generation of officers and politicians will do things different. But, it is very disappointing that so far they have failed to prove themselves. They have been sucked into it and are not able to break free from the grip of the seniors.

  • There are bureaucrats for whom my heart wish to say "Yeeesssss" but since this is an in general bureaucrats and politicians of new generation... My answer will be sadly a big "No".

• No. The political weather reports, “the WINDS still blowing in the same direction with no changes in its course as of now.”

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:

• I don’t know who to hold accountable – the officers or the system. Today, in our Nagaland, the system has become too corrupted. No one seems to be able to get out of the system.

• I think the younger generations of politicians and bureaucrats are much more well versed and educated and exposed to the world. I think the key for them is to learn from the seniors but not to follow them. They should take the positive things but should avoid following the same path. They must get out of the grip of the older ones and act independently.

  • 99 per cent of them have made themselves crorepaties. This is their main goal. All other issues can wait till the final settlement of the Naga issue, sooner or later.

• Hope they can strive to bring political revolution in our state. Hope they can strive to be legends so that after they are long gone people will always remember them foundly. Hope they can be the "elected representatives" of every Naga and have a heart for the oppressed, the voiceless and the downtrodden.

• They should be bringing development. That and only that.

• The younger generation of politicians and bureaucrats are not yet in the power seat. No doubt, they are all on the way of one day sitting down on the power seat, but right now, they are only serving the interests of those in power. So it will take some time before we really get to know the real picture.
