Some of those who voted YES had this to say:
• If by healthcare infrastructure, the health minister meant new buildings, than I believe that this ministry has put some effort into building some massive, boring looking buildings. I wish they had used the money more intelligently to get the best out of it. This Rio-led government has gone into this building mode, where they are building massive govt buildings all around Kohima. It may seem impressive, but this is not what is required. The money can and must be used with more caution.
• There are many govt. hospitals. there are also anganwadi centres. medical facilities even reach out to the remote villages.
• Yes, I think this government is atleast concerned and is trying its best to improve the health care system in Nagaland. Compared to a few years ago, the situation in Nagaland is much better.
• The health care seems atleast satisfactory. But one of the gravious danger of the society’s moral health care is the growing strength of the ill intends of the anti-Naga and anti-Christian pagans who through the means of their ill cults, corrupt ways of life, lies in the power of their material strength are trying their best to contest every forward movement of the growth of Christian faith, its values and civilization, say by way of putting up concerted efforts to distort the believers-minds and faiths, their progress and even try to demoralize them by trying to make all their faith, growth, strength and courage is something like stupidity, eccentricness, etc
Some of those who voted NO had this to say:
• I don't think Nagaland has good healthcare infrastructures at all. Merely building an empty concrete hospital does not count; and most of which were built many decades ago. We should look at the overall availability and maintenance- man-power, continuous power supply, equipment etc. Do we even have an MRI scanning machine in Nagaland? As far as I know, there isn't. Even other machines for conducting X-Ray, CT scan, Ultra sound etc are of inferior quality (the ones I have seen). What is required? We need a good medical college, investments from the government and private sectors and of course, professionalism.
• Lack of fund from state government n corruption from health ministry
• compare the health status and facilities of nagaland with other states. How many of our patients go out of the state for treatment? No major modern equipments are given and so good Drs. will not serve..What our politicians and administrators are doing ,i don't know..they can't even set up a medical college, shame on them to ride good cars and boast about their achievements when others have went far ahead of them...
• No, What a shame.... Hospitals is without Doctors in the land.
• NO! NO!!it is in pitiable state. How many pregnant women gets their share of vitamins which was to be distributed free of cost to the villagers. How many govt doctors visit their area of posting or supervision with sincerity. Health Care is not all about POLIO!!! Elections are fought in the US on Healthcare!! We just ignore it while precious lives are lost!! the allegation by the NMA on implementation of NRHM, Anthropological Society of Nagaland(ASN, need to be seriously probed. just because by virtue of their doctorate degree does not meant that all things should flow through them!!Improper implementation of any mission of scheme and lack of transparency has made certain individuals/organizations/societies very very RICH!!! The poor are the ones who suffer the most!!
• Healthcare... in nagaland .. never heard of it
• No. The wealth of a state is the health and happiness of its citizens. So a serious government should provide the best facilities in hospitals instead of spending crores on SUVs.
• Not at all. It was very embarrassing to read recently in the local papers where the minister of Health made tall claims that Nagaland has one of the best healthcare infrastructure in the world. This is completely absurd. Just go to the district hospital and you will see for yourself. Just recently we had some youths paint up the maternity ward of the Dimapur Civil hospital. I bet you this would not have been necessary if the healthcare facilities were good.
• No, because apart from medicine, not even cotton is avail to patients
• No, Satisfaction is unavailable in the dictionary of healthcare infrastructure of Nagaland. No proposer medicine, the hospitals are unhygienic, the patient are not cared nicely and mostly doctors not in station.
• Nagaland’s doom,,,, and i see no future...
• No. Most Doc make wrong diagnosis, rashly operates and when patients health deteriorates, refers them out of Nagaland for treatment. What do our docs learn in med school?
• Nope........should do more......once should go n have a look in Naga hospital kohima....
• No. Consecutive Nagaland govt leaders have been siphoning off central health funds into their personal bank A/Cs to be used in own treatment in luxurious clinics
• No. An old man said “we think ‘rich people’ don’t get sick because we don’t see them in government hospitals, they do! But they go out of state for treatment with the money stolen from us”
• No, government must urgently upgrade all health centres for the public benefit. Underground factions should stop their goondagiri tax on honest hardworking health workers.
• No, crores of health funds has flowed down the septic tanks of unscrupulous ‘holy sahebs’ The stinky tanks may burst one day and choke its owners to death with its stench.
• No, whats the vigilance commission doing? I thought it made up of honest people checking corruption in the state. Filing RTIs attract pressure from higher ups on the applicants.
• Because apart from medicine and hospital use, not even cotton is available in a district hospital
• A quality infrastructure with modern medical equipments is still awaited…Forget about receiving customers from outside, the common longing in every heart remains when we will be satisfied with the performances of our own hospitals.
• Both public and private existing healthcare infrastructures in the state don’t seem to make headway despite their concerted efforts to do the best they can in their respective ways. Let me single out limited diagnostic capability, non-existing cutting edge technology, lack of myriad specialists, want of advanced treatment, researches, inadequate medical facilities of examination and inspection, etc. And above all, what makes me most unsatisfied if not quite embarrassed as one of the concerned nagas for just one reason uptill now, no Medical College existing in our own soil. The Naga people deserve more than that?!
• No, I am not so satisfied with the existing healthcare infrastructure in Nagaland. The govt of Nagaland still have to build up more than the infrastructure exist now.
Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
• Healthcare stands in the league of top priority...! And Media as the ultimate medium for discussion and forum, such primary issue may be highlighted from time to time. My humble say. Otherwise the choice is left within our pick- We keep waiting in the queue for Part-time-Govt Doctors (mbbs)/Apollo hospital visiting Doctor in private clinics or half heartedly take appointments with renowned existing hospitals.
• If Health is good than why people go all over India for treatment? Infrastructure need to be revitalised and maintained; cheap instruments must be upgraded.
• U bet! I am very ‘satisfied’ with the way health ministers after ministers consciousless dept officials have built palatial buildings, buy SUVs, send their children to metros all at the expense of the poor children, the sick and needy, the public, mentally and physically challenged. Very admirable! God will speak on behalf of the exploited.
• Its difficult to understand why the government thinks of infrastructure only in terms of building and concrete walls. Why can they not look at infrastructure in terms of people and invest in people. Instead of building so many buildings, the same amount of funds would have supported a large number of people to advance in their skills in knowledge. I think the government has got its priority wrong. Invest in people, not just concrete buildings.
• The healthcare infrastructure? Just having some nurses with a pen and a paper coming in every morning and evening just to taka a useless note of the level of my urine in the bag doesn’t deserve payment of hundreds of extra rupees at the time of discharge from the hospital. Unreasonably expensive for the general public and we call that wow! Its all just buildings standing on sacred ground. NO quality care inside. We don’t need new healthcare but quality renovation in the existing ones. No doubt the so called expensive ones can try living up to its price. People! We need quality.
• Govt review board with local leaders must inspect every hospital and do serious inventory top to bottom. What is working and what is not. Functionality is critical and is there people who knows how to use it? Physician ratio, nurses and administration. Is doctor in the house? lists can go on.
