DIMAPUR, APRIL 19 (MExN): An arson attempt was foiled when unidentified miscreants tried to set fire to a makeshift structure located in the heart of town on April 18. The incident occurred around 11:00 pm, Thursday night at a plot of land located near Christian Higher Secondary School, Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur. According to the Fire Service, the fire was brought under control before it could spread. An IRB unit on patrol within the vicinity was alerted, who reacted swiftly, preventing the fire from escalating. The swift reaction of the security personnel made the miscreants retreat and escape before they could do any serious damage, it was added. Thursday night’s attempt was not the first, in recent time; miscreants have attempted to set fire in the same plot of land in the past. Sources say the plot of land is disputed.
