Guwahati, December 28 (UNI): The Assam government offices will open half-an-hour earlier from New Year Day. The state government employees will have to report on duty at 0930 hours every morning, instead of current 1000 hours, from January 1 next. decision to prepone the office timing was taken at a state Cabinet meeting, chaired by chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, here last evening. Official sources said the closing office time will remain unchanged at 1700 hours. Sonowal had recently floated the idea of starting the office work earlier as the sunrise is early in this part of the country.
