Zunheboto, December 13 (MExN): 5 Assam Rifles apprehended three NSCN (K) cadres along with arms, ammunition, and “incriminating documents” from jungles of a village in Zunheboto district on December 12-13.
A press release from Assam Rifles has identified the three as Chairman of NSCN (K) Sumi Region, Nitoi Sumi (53), Khatoho Achumi (40), and Vikheho Awomi (38).
The recoveries, according to the release, included 5.56 mm A-1 Rifle with magazine, 84 rounds of 5.56 mm caliber, one ammunition pouch, 74 non local blank identity cards, one tax collection booklet with seven counter foils and 11 leaves, 21 NSCN/GPRN (K) letter head pads, one vehicle registration certificate of Bajaj Discover (NL-07 J 7910) in the name of Ayeto Achumi, one Government of Nagaland identity card issued by SDO, Electrical, Akuluto, three mobile phones and an unsigned hand written demand letter addressed to Executive Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control department, Zunheboto.
The apprehended persons along with the recoveries were handed over to Zunheboto Police Station, it said.
