Kohima, September 18 (MExN): Personnel of the 9 Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre during an operation at PR Hill Kohima in the wee hours of September 18 morning, a press release from the AR informed. The cadre was identified as one Lance Corporal Imkongakum Ao, aged 27 yrs. “The individual when apprehended was in a highly intoxicated state having consumed some drugs,” the AR claimed in its press release and added that several commonly used drugs – Altoprex-CT Cough syrup, Injection Dexona, and Tablet Alprazolam – were recovered from him. The AR claimed that it had received information of an NSCN (K) cadre involving in extortion/tax collection activities from local shopkeepers at gunpoint in Kohima Town on September 15. A specially constituted team tracked the cadre and caught him in the house at PR Hill, Kohima at 1:45 am on Sunday morning along with “extortion slips” from the Ministry of Chaplee (Finanace Affairs), NSCN (K), the AR release claimed.
