Wokha/Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): Wokha Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) recovered drugs – 3881 capsules of Spasmodic and 100 capsules of Nitrosum – worth around Rs. 40,000 during a search operation carried out at Foot Hill road junction in Wokha district on January 21, stated a press release from HQ IGAR (North). The contraband was handed over to Bhandari Police Station and an FIR was lodged for the same, it added.
In a separate incident, Assam Rifles troops apprehended two GPRN/NSCN cadres with “incriminating documents” and Rs. 7500 in cash from a vehicle (Wagon R) bearing registration number HR 26AM 1659 in Dilai Gate area in Dimapur. The AR troops had conducted an operation along with police representative based on “specific information about presence of UG cadres and extortion activities” in the area, another press release stated. The apprehended cadres identified as Aben Sangtam (27) and Kughato Achum (27) along with the recovered items were handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
