Assam Rifles recover stolen vehicle

Kohima, March 5 (MExN): 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) recovered a stolen vehicle from Chakabama on March 3. A press release from Assam Rifles recounted that troops of 9 Assam Rifles chased a suspicious TATA Sumo vehicle bearing registration number NL-03T0456 when it tried to evade a check post established by AR on Chakabama-Kidima road. On being chased, the driver of the Tata Sumo ran away into the jungle. However, a motorcyclist guiding the vehicle was apprehended. The motorcyclist identified as Sahrünü Ngao (26) of Senapati (Manipur), according to the press release, revealed that the Tata Sumo was stolen and they wanted to sell it off in Manipur. The apprehended person along with the recovered vehicle was handed over to the Police Station Kezocha for further investigation.
