ASU St. Joseph's College welcome freshers

Kohima, August 20 (MExN): The Angami Students' Union, St. Joseph's College Jakhama (ASU SJC) organised its 23rd fresher's meet with Kezhokhoto Savi, Advocate, President NVCO & Asst Professor, Kohima Law College as the guest speaker at APO Hall, Kohima on August 18.  

Speaking during the occasion, Kezhokhoto Savi exhorted the students while sharing his experiences as a student. He emphasized on the priorities and responsibilities of a student and also urged the young people to have faith in God. Referring to ‘The parable of talents’ from the Bible, Savi advised the students to know what they can do according to their abilities and talents. ‘It is the choice of the individual to choose his or her life,’ he added.  

Meanwhile, Kevingunyü Mere bagged the Mr. Fresher 2018 title while Kelhoulenuo Jenny Sekhose won the Miss Fresher 2018 title respectively during the Mr & Miss ASU SJC 2018 competition. Both of the contestants are first year students from BBA Department of the college.  

Including more than 500 freshers and senior students of ASU SJC, the programme was also attended by representatives from Angami Students' Union apex body, All Nagaland College Students' Union, Angami Students' Union, Science College Jotsoma, Angami Students' Union, Kohima College Kohima, SJC Students' Council, students and lecturers of SJC.  

Earlier, Pastor Vizolie Zhale invoked God's blessings, welcome address was delivered by Zhavilie Zale, President ASU SJC while Vilakienyii Liezietsu and Dziesengunuo Rutsa spoke on behalf of senior and junior students respectively.  

Meanwhile, Kevichadzelie Suohu presented the general secretary report, vote of thanks was proposed by Keneiphrenuo Suokhrie while the program was chaired by Khrietsonyii Whuorie.
