ATMA Chukitong Block conduct training and demonstration

Wokha, August 26 (MExN): ATMA Wokha, Chukitong Block conducted ‘demonstration on line sowing of pea’ at Yanthamo Village on August 23. The programme was chaired by BTT Convener, Zuthunglo Erui, Agriculture Inspector, Wokha. 

A press note stated here that demonstration on line sowing of pea was done by Nzani Kikon, ATM, Chukitong Block. After the demonstration, Farm School on Sugarcane was established at Yanthamo, with Jenibemo as the Farm School teacher and 19 students.  Concept of Farm School was shared by Abeni Patton, BTM, Chukitong Block. Spade, pea and coriander seeds were distributed. After the programme which was attended by 21 farmers and four ATMA officials with convener.

Later on the same day, mobilization of two farmers group, Commodity Interest Group (CIG), was formed for farmers of Yimkha and Longla. The groups formed were urged to cooperate with one another and work together for the betterment of their group by Zuthunglo Erui, BTT Convener. Training on cultivation techniques of winter vegetables (pea and cabbage), was given by Zachamo, ATM. He gave detail information about the cultivation techniques of pea and cabbage from nursery preparation till harvesting. Demonstration on line sowing of pea was conducted by Nzani, ATM. 

After the programme, pea and coriander seeds were distributed. The programme was attended by 12 farmers, four ATMA officials and BTT Convener.
