ATMA Dimapur awards ‘Best Farmer’ and ‘Best Organised Group’

Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Dimapur organized award distribution programme for ‘Best Farmer’ and ‘Best Organised Group’ at ATMA Training Hall on July 23.

The programme was chaired by Dr Ithika C Swu, Dy PD, ATMA, Dimapur who welcomed the HOD’s Dimapur of Agri and allied departments and farmers present.

Atoi Sema, DAO & PD (ATMA) for encouraged the awardees to continue their hard work and dedication. He said that the department is trying their best to help the farming community in this time of pandemic and asked them not to hesitate in approaching ATMA for any query or assistance related to agriculture and allied activities. He also sought their cooperation in disseminating farm information to other farmers as well as report disease or pest infestation to agri and allied departments.

The DAO & PD (ATMA) distributed the Best Farmer Award to six farmers namely, Thapfusabinuo, Seyeineinu Angami, Vikuosienuo Chusi, Dik Bahadur, Zhetovi Yeptho and Orenthung Ngullie and Best Organised Group Award to three groups namely Aloino FSG, Sofaizen FSG and Kutupo SHG.

Akato Chishi, DPO, Land Resources and Member AMC also congratulated the awardees and said that farmers do not work for recognition or awards but for sustainability and are the economy builders and the awardees are the motivators and encouragers for others to excel.

The program concluded with vote of thanks from Tonikali Achumi, Dy PD ATMA Dimapur.
