Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur, Medziphema block conducted a day-long training, demonstration and inauguration of farm school programme at Seithekima-A village on August 27. A press release from BTM Medziphema block, Chubanaro stated that during the training programme, resource person Dr Michael Imti Imchen, VAS, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Dimapur spoke on the topic of “Livestock Management” emphasizing on the housing, feeding, deworming, fertility and disease management. He gave the participants hands-on demonstration on the topic “Administration of first aid to cattle and its basic care” and “Techniques of handling and restraining of pigs for medication and vaccination.”


During the inauguration of Livestock Farm School, Thejano Makritsu from Seithekima-A village was appointed as the farm school teacher.


BTM, Chubanaro Jamir highlighted on the functions of ATMA and concept of farm school and the role of a farm teacher where deworming medicines, vitamins and feed supplements were distributed. Farmers groups were also mobilized and imparted training on vermicomposting for sustainable agriculture and value addition of fruits and vegetables.
