ATMA inaugurates integrated farm school at Sangsangyu block

Tuensang, July 22 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Tuensang, Sangsangyu block inaugurated integrated farm school at Bomaiyo, Haak Village on July 17. Takum was appointed as the farm school teacher. 

BTT Convenor C. Limba, HEA Horticulture explained the requirements for an ideal apple cultivation and gave directions for training and pruning, which are essential for a proper orchard framework. The farmers were further trained on the scope and importance of horticultural crops.  

Mongko Chollen, AI (Agriculture) educated the farmers on the cultivation techniques of kiwi and stressed on training of kiwi vine which requires constant attention.  

On July 18 at Haak Village, P Liyang FD (Fishery) demonstrated methods involved in pond construction, management process and testing of the acidity of the pond using pH paper. Mongko Chollen, AI (Agriculture) demonstrated on cultivation practices of cardamom, intercultural operations, care and management. On the same day, Bomaiyu- Edou Food security group (FSG) with 10 members was mobilized. Altogether, 30 farmers and 4 officials attended the programme.
