Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Medziphema block, Dimapur inaugurated a ‘Piggery Farm School’ at Seithekima-C Village on May 25 with Dr Ebibeni Ngullie, ACTO (Animal Science), KVK (ICAR) Jharnapani as resource person and Khrokedu Therie as farm school teacher.
A press release received here informed that Dr Ebibeni highlighted on management issues of in-breeding, disease management and artificial Insemination (AI) of pigs. The concept of farm school was also explained by BTM Chubanaro Jamir to the farmers present.
BTT Convener and ACTO (Soil Science) KVK (ICAR), Jharnapani imparted training to the Self Help Group (SHG) farmers on “Homestead garden for nutritional security,” the release informed.
Altogether, 18 farmers attended the training programme. Later, Farm Women’s Food Secur ity Group (FSG) named as Kezekevi Krotho was formed comprising of 8 women members.
Free lime bags were distributed and financial assistance was provided to the farm school teacher and FSG.
