ATMA Kobulong Block conducts trainings

Mokokchung, August 1 (MExN): ATMA Mokokchung, Kobulong Block conducted demonstration on low cost water conservation for seasonal crops and inaugurated a farm school on water harvest management at Yimchalu village on July 28.  

Longkaba, SCA, Mokokchung was the resource person. He briefed on the importance of making low cost water conservation tank in the field and preserving the water especially for winter crops cultivation during winter season when there is scarcity of water. He further explained and demonstrated on the procedures for making low cost water tank structures, a press release informed.  

Dr. Aoyimsen, BTT Convener discussed with the farmers the importance of farm school and encouraged them to work hard for better result in farming process. Moanaro, ATM, Kobulong Block also briefed the trainees about the concept of farm school. Altogether, 28 farmers attended the programme, which was chaired by Nuksunginla, ATM, Kobulong block. 

Water harvest management for winter vegetables

ATMA Kobulong Block also conducted demonstration on water harvest management for winter vegetables under Pradhan Mantra Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) on July 29 at Mening Valley, Longjang village. ATM, Nuksunginla Jamir (ATMA) demonstrated the step by step procedures for construction of low cost water harvest structures, different types of construction and its maintenance. She also highlighted on situ soil and water table conservation through agriforestry and utility with its efficient use of water management through drip irrigation, especially during winter cropping season. Altogether, 10 farmers attended the programme chaired by ATM, Moanaro.  

Capacity building prog

Meanwhile, capacity building programme for FIG under Pradhan Mantra Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) was conducted at Yimchalu village on July 30 by ATMA, Kobulong Block. Dr. Rongsen, SMS, KVK, Mokokchung, the resource person, deliberated on topics like accountancy, register maintenance, and record keeping for activities. He further emphasized on role and responsibilities of leadership to enhance proper mobilization of the group. ATM Nuksunginla Jamir chaired the programme, which was attended by 15 farmers.
