ATMA Phek organizes farmers’ training

Phek, January 30 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Phek organized a ‘Farmers’ Training and Farm Visit’ to Dimapur from January 22 to 24.   The main objective was to train the women farmers, especially the SHG members, on subject related to utilization and packaging of unused agricultural produces, according to a press release from ATMA Phek.   The team led by Dr. Keviu Shuya, Deputy Project Director, ATMA Phek visited Pristine Foods, an enterprise run by Kekhrongulo Kapfo, Puteu Kapfo, and Neikhote Mekrisuh.   The farmers were taught on utilization of easily available raw materials like ginger, gooseberry, wild apple, star fruits, mango, pomelo, rosella, jamun etc. for producing candy, sauce, powdered products, squash and dried fruits.   Azolla cultivation for bio-fertilizer, packaging, advertisements, pricing was also taught to the farmers.  The team also visited a piggery breeding unit.
