Peren, September 19 (MExN): ATMA Tening block, Peren District conducted training and demonstration at Old Tesen Village and New Tesen Village on September 15 and 16 respectively.
ATM Woshanthung Jamio during the training highlighted the importance of ‘Crop rotation of rice-mustard cropping system’ and its multi benefits and also further suggested and encouraged the Farmers to implement integrated approach towards pest and disease management in mustard cultivation.
Thereafter, a training and demonstration on post harvest handling and marketing of mustard at New Tesen was conducted by ATM Rokozhalie Namdau. He demonstrated on the management and prevention measures to protect crops from pests and diseases and also the problems and constraints about marketing techniques.
On site demonstration using cultural methods to mitigate pest diseases using sticky traps and using neem leaf extract was also carried out.
