Wokha, September 2 (MExN): ATMA Wokha, Wozhuro block conducted training and demonstration on the topic ‘Disease & pest Management on Vegetable Crops’ at Khumtsu and Tsungza on August 30 and 31.
A press release issued by the BTM ATMA, Benthunglo Murry stated that the programme was chaired by Shanchobeni Humtsoe, Horticulture Inspector & BTT Convenor. Resource Person, ATM, Nzanthung Ngullie, spoke on various disease and pest of vegetable crops and their management. He also demonstrated on line sowing of field pea at farmers’ field. Meanwhile, training cum demonstration on banana cultivation was carried out by ATM, Zujanbemo Khuvung.
Later, mobilization of farmers group was also conducted with two self Help Groups from Tsungza and Khumtsu Villages. BTM, Benthunglo Murry highlighted its concept, role and responsibility of SHG. The programme was followed by discussion and seeds distribution to the farmers.
The release also stated that a farm school on banana was established at Khumtsu Village. Resource Person, ATM Loreni Kithan spoke on farm school concept and its role and importance. Ashamo Ezung was appointed as the farm school teacher, it added.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Farmer friend, Jonsurhomo Humtsoe. Altogether 40 farmers along with ATMA officials benefitted from the training programme.
