Atou Memorial Snooker C’ship underway

    Our Correspondent Kohima | August 4   The 13th Atou Memorial Open Snooker Championship 2017 in memory of Ketoulhou (Atou) Keditsu got underway here today at Atou Pool House, near Old NST.   Addressing the inaugural function as special guest, Roko Angami, President Nagaland Football Coaches Association stressed on the need to promote the discipline of snooker in Nagaland.   Stating that a time has come to focus on professionalism, Roko called upon the sports lovers to involve in the field of games and sports with seriousness and not just a time pass or hobby affair.   Roko also shared his experience as a former international footballer, which not only provided him opportunity to visit foreign countries but also brought him fame and respect in the society.   Altogether, 40 players from Kohima, Wokha, Dimapur and Mizoram are taking part in this two day event.   The champion will take away cash prize of Rs. 25,000 while the runner-up will receive Rs. 15,000.   Losing semi finalists will get Rs. 5000 each. Highest break point will also be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5000.
