Mokokchung, April 8 (MExN): A one-day awareness programme on Child Rights was organised by Family Counselling Centre (FCC) under Care & Support Society, Mokokchung at Multipurpose Hall, Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
Resource persons Purnungsang, Advocate, Dr. Arenla, Child Welfare Committee and T. AsulaImsong, Protection Officer (NIC) discussed on Child Rights such as Rights to Survival, Protection, Rights to Development, Rights to Participation, child abuse, child labour, child trafficking, protection of children from sexual abuse etc.
The resource persons also discussed on issues of child discrimination and added that in all Districts of Nagaland, Child Protection Unit is made available where they work to provide Care and Protection to the Children. They challenged the gathering, especially the students to join hands and make the district a child friendly environment.
