Wokha, February 13 (MExN): The Wokha District Administration and DLCW-MSK in collaboration with Department of Health and Family Welfare and SAKHI- One Stop Centre (OSC), Wokha organized a one day awareness programme on Pre Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and free medical camp under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Old Ralan, Panchayat Hall under SDO (C) Administrative headquarter on February 13. According to a DIPR report, the programme was organized as part of the year long activities under BBBP 2021 to be conducted in the district. Around 200 participants attended the programme during which, baby kits were distributed to new born girl children and sanitary pads were also given to the participants.
Besides free medical check-up, free medicines were also distributed to the participants. SDO (C) Ralan who chaired the programme thanked the team for visiting the area and expressed hope that such kind of initiatives would benefit the people of the area. Advocate Thungbeni Kikon, Case Worker OSC enlightened the gathering about the activities of One Stop Centre- Sakhi and the various beneficial activities relating to the welfare of women and girl child. Chief Medical Officer, Wokha C W Tungoe briefed the participants about the PCPNDT Act and the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination in the State. The CMO also encouraged all to avail the COVID-19 vaccine to be free from Coronavirus. He further appealed all to follow the guidelines and SOPs even after taking the vaccine.
