Kohima, February 18 (MExN): As part of the Sekrenyi festival 2021, the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) will be carrying out a cleanliness drive in Kohima town on February 22 from 7:00 am till 10:00 am.
The cleanliness drive, which is three-day ahead of the premier festival of the Angami Nagas, will be carried out in collaboration with the Kohima Municipal Council and Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries, along the stretch of Kohima town - from Lerie to High School area and from TCP Gate to Paramedical Colony, informed press release issued by AYO.
Youth volunteers and officials from all the four Angami ranges including SAYO, NAYO, WAYO and CYO will also take part in the cleanliness drive.
Meanwhile, the AYO has requested all the shopkeepers along the stretch of Kohima town to clean their respective shops and the adjacent areas. On the day, water will be provided; therefore, the shopkeepers are asked to come prepared with necessary equipments such as bucket, mug, cloth, broom, etc.
Meanwhile, the AYO has also resolved for removal of the old rickety vehicles/structures which have been stranded on the road/highway for too long, and which have been obstructing the smooth flow of vehicular movement. To this, the ward panchayat/colony officials are requested to take the initiative in informing the concerned vehicle owners and do the needful at the earliest.
