
Mutsale (Phek) Jan 8 (MExN): Minister for Agriculture Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today announced that he would approach the state’s PWD Minister to pay a visit to the newly constructed road Mutsale-Phugi in Phek district and take up the same under the department.
Plying on this newly constructed road for the first time during the inauguration of Mutsalemi’s cultural day this morning, Azo asserted that once the PWD takes up the said route, better maintenance as well as employment generation avenues will be opened and ensured.
With the completion of the said road, it will now take only little over 3 hours to reach Kohima via Chozuba against nearly 6 hours on the Phek road via Pfutsero.
The minister extended appreciation to the contractors, army and all those involved in completion of the said road. Development will come as and when better road communication reaches the people, Azo maintained. Stressing on the need to maintain the roads properly, Azo advised the villagers to take care of drainage systems as well.
He was optimistic that the new road will open a new vista in terms of bridging communication gaps and commercial linkage in the area.The minister also assured the gathering that he would take up minor irrigation projects for Mutsale and Phugi.
Also stating that youth are the strength and hope of the village, Minister Azo urged them to take socially-conscious decisions and lead the village in the right perspective. Among the many dignitaries who attended the function include, Sevoyi Sapuh, Commandant of 5th NAP Phek, Wezope, SDO(C) Chozuba, Zeveyi, District Cultural Officer Phek and Vezopra, vice president BJP Nagaland.Cultural songs, dances and a tug of war competition marked the occasion.
