Backyard Poultry training cum distribution held in Peren

Peren, September 5 (MExN): A training programme on “Backyard poultry production and common diseases of poultry and their management” was conducted by ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Peren at Jalukie town on September 2 and 3. 

During the technical session, Dr L Babita Devi, ACTO (A/Sc) delivered lecture on the topic “Backyard poultry production with special reference to common diseases of poultry and their management”. She elaborated in detail about the importance of scientific management and use of improved germplasm of poultry for backyard system. She explained in detail about the housing and feeding management of backyard system and made the farmers aware about the importance of deworming and vaccination in poultry rearing.  

As a continuation of the programme, for on farm trial and demonstration, a total of 1500 day old chicks (Srinidhi and Vanaraja poultry birds) were also distributed to 40 beneficiary farmers of Jalukie town, Jalukieram, Phijol,  Nkwareu and Samzuram villages of  Peren district.
